The Algae Green
Our project aims to create a sustainable platform to improve water quality, promote eco-innovation, and set a model for environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices. Together, we can harness the power of microalgae to benefit our environment and communities.
Introduction to Microalgae
Microalgae are tiny aquatic organisms that play a vital role in our ecosystems. As primary producers, they help remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, significantly contributing to carbon neutrality and serving as an important carbon sink - a natural or artificial reservoir that absorbs and stores carbon dioxide. These organisms can be found in diverse environments—from oceans to lakes—thriving wherever water is present.

Growing Algae Industry
The Microalgae industry has grown significantly in recent years, with global production reaching 27.3 million tons in 2014, worth $5.6 billion. These remarkable organisms absorb about 5 billion tons of inorganic carbon each year and also contain unique ingredients that can be developed into food additives, cosmetics and health supplements.
Diversified Applications
Microalgae can be used for a variety of purposes, including:
-
Nutritional ingredients: Enhance fish feed and animal nutrition.
-
Biodiesel production: Contributing to renewable energy.
-
Health Supplement: Provides beneficial compounds such as artemisia capecitabine, known for its antioxidant properties.
These applications make microalgae a valuable resource with minimal waste.
